Jakarta Historical Museum Improved

Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department keeps beautify the Jakarta Historical Museum which located on Jalan Taman Fatahillah, West Jakarta. All the building paint which famously known as Fatahillah Museum is now repainted.

The paint is imported from England and France

Based on beritajakarta.com monitoring, the front of the building that was built in 1710 is covered by plywood. Meanwhile the back and inside the building almost of them covered by net. Dozens worker seen peeling the old paint.

Head of Jakarta Historical Museum Administration Sub-department, Hendra Handoyo explained, the painting for the outside building conservation is using the paint that imported specially from England or France.

"The paint is imported from England and France because the building wall was not built of cement, so need a special treatment," said Hendra, Friday (10/24).

Hendra mentioned, the painting process of the building that stand on the 1,300 meter area has been worked since October 15 and expected finish on upcoming December 15.

"During the painting, we close the museum to meet the target," said Hendra.

Besides in outside conservation, Hendra continued, his side also held a conservation of show room. Now the activity with Rp 10 billion budget still in auction process in Jakarta Goods and Services Procurement Unit (ULP).
